Becky Marcis Brooks

Director of Service

For Becky, the title of Director of Service is another way of saying Jill of all trades. She draws on a wealth of diverse and rich experiences: as the resident counselor of a developmentally disabled community, where she developed a creative menu within the confines of a state-mandated meal plan, all the way to New York Restaurant School, which served as a springboard for her restaurant career. She worked extensively both front- and back-of-house at places including Craft (both NYC and L.A.), Campanile (L.A.), Porter & Frye (Minneapolis), Rose Water (Brooklyn), and The Standard (NYC) before making her way to New Orleans, where she worked as the general manager of Mondo under chef-owner Susan Spicer.

After taking a break from work to have her son, she was determined to re-join the industry at the best restaurant with the best food and thus found herself at Coquette. Now, she oversees operations for both Coquette and sister restaurant Lengua Madre, shapeshifting to support her management team. She also offers HR support by leading the training and onboarding programs and providing open-door guidance to all staff. After her decades-long career, she most values the chance to provide exceptional hospitality and work with like-minded people.

When she’s not at work, Becky is either hanging out with her husband, son, and 27-year-old python or taking part in one of her many hobbies; she is an avid gardener, home cook, and skilled crafter. She’s also a passionate advocate for human rights, animals, and nature and aspires to support the growth of community gardens.
